Course Side Dish
Cuisine Mediterranean, middle-eastern
- ¼ cup yogurt
- 1 clove garlic grated or mashed into a paste
- 1 tsp fresh mint or ¼ tsp dry
- ½ tsp fresh dill or ¼ tsp dry
- ½ tsp lemon/lime juice
- ⅛ cup water if needed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp tahini (middle eastern sesame paste) optional or 2 tsp mayonnaise optional
Take yogurt, mashed garlic, herbs, lime/lemon juice, salt, pepper in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
Add tahini or mayonnaise, if using and whisk it in.
Add water to thin it as needed and adjust the seasonings.
Can be used immediately. I do recommend resting it for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors mingle. It goes great with these authentic falafel. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
