Wanting to make something quick for my daughter, I mixed the two together and added some maple syrup to help with the binding to make these almond flour balls. They tasted so good! I was so excited about how quick and easy it was to put these laddoos together and shared the recipe with all my mommy friends out there. Everyone loved it, so in fact, this recipe is approved by many 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between almond flour and almond meal?
Almond flour is made using blanched almonds, that is almonds whose skins have been removed. They may also be more finely ground.
Almond meal on the other hand is the flour made using unpeeled almonds.
If you have store bought almond flour, you are good to go! If not, you have one extra step of processing almonds into almond meal.
Can I use almond meal in this recipe?
Yes, totally! Both almond flour and almond meal can be used in this recipe.
How to make almond flour snack balls if I don’t have almond flour?
You can easily make your own Almond meal! Take a small batch of almonds in a blender and pulse in short intervals. Depending on your appliance, you will have to take care to make sure that the almonds do not start releasing their oils.
If you see that they are almost close to releasing their oils, stop pulsing and take them out.
Can I make almond flour ladoo if I do not have peanut butter?
You can use other nut butters. Making peanut butter at home is easy!
- Dry roast the peanuts.
- Place roasted peanuts in a blender and blend them till they release their oils and become smooth.
- You may add an extra spoonful of oil to help with the blending.
- You may also add salt and sugar to taste.

Thank you so much for stopping by! It really means a lot to me!
This is the 2nd time I’ve made these and have loved them each time. The first time I used a peanut-free seed butter and added some vanilla whey protein powder into the mix. They tasted delicious!
The second time (they’re in the refridgerator now so I haven’t tasted them yet) I used the seed butter and a little more vanilla protein powder but it was too crumbly so I added some natural (no sugar) peanut butter. The mix was still too crumbly but with the warmth of the palms of my hands, I was able to make balls. I’m still not happy with my consistency but I’m certain it’s the added protein powder.
I’ll keep fine tuning my recipe until I get that smooth and glustening outer finish.
To comment on my comment (LOL), I use sugar-free semisweet chocolate chips in my recipes. I can’t tell/taste the difference. When melted the chocolate chips also make a great glaze for peanut butter balls or any type of “truffle.” (Also, in my original review, that was supposed to say “glistening” finish)!
sounds so yum! Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback, appreciate it!
Hey! Glad you loved them! I have never added protein powder but that’s a great idea! Hopefully a little bit more peanut butter/ honey will do the trick
